Did you know that you can send your expired coupons to military families overseas?
YOU CAN!!
Military families can use expired coupons for up to six months after expiration date!
So QUIT THROWING THEM AWAY!
Each week I will change the address to a different US military base!
First, you should know a few things:
- Time is of the essence! Remember that it takes a little time (several weeks perhaps) for mail to arrive internationally! So, get your coupons out as quick as possible to avoid moving past the 6 month cut off!
- Postage is the same as mailing in the U.S. as long as it is going to an APO/FPO address.
- Send ONLY manufacturers coupons that you find in your newspaper. No Internet or In-Store coupons should be sent. While Internet coupons can still be used, most families can print these out themselves online!
- If you choose to send to the bases that I list here, please separate "Non-Food" and "Food" in baggies. This helps the staff by saving them the time of sorting through all these coupons!
- If the base sends you a letter asking you to quit sending coupons, because they have enough, please e-mail me at poorhouseprincess@gmail.com I will remove that base from my list for a while! If you have a base or family in mind, please feel free to e-mail that information, as well!
- Please address your package EXACTLY how I have it written. The postal service MUST have the address this way, just like you receiving a letter to your home! Do not include the country or the base camp's city, as it might be routed through the host country's mail system.
For Example:
Family Services (or Information We Have Listed)
Unit Number, Box Number
APO AE 00000
Unit Number, Box Number
APO AE 00000
- If you receive a Thank You Letter for the base, feel free to share it with us! Just as we would, these families really do appreciate our help! poorhouseprincess@gmail.com
So, here we go! This week's address located in Yokohama, Japan is:
