Banking tip: Go Paperless

Check with your bank about Paperless Banking or E-Banking. Our bank has completely waived banking fees all together as long as we follow certain banking steps.

All your banking will be done online and you will no longer receive a statement in your mailbox. Rather, you will get an e-statement in your e-mail that can be printed if you feel the need to have a hard copy.

Some banks have other conditions like our bank where you solely use the ATM for transactions such as withdrawals and deposits.

With the mobile apps available today, our banking is even as easy as clicking a picture of our checks to deposit them and dropping them in the mail! We never have to even go to the bank! :c)

Hey Cinderella: Stopping The Money Flush - Toilet Paper Trick

Feel like you're always changing the toilet paper roll?
Is there a weekly call for Dad The Plumber to unclog the commode?

If it seems your constantly putting toilet paper on your grocery list, try this easy trick.

Step on the new roll, creasing the cardboard roll. When you put it on the roller, the paper should flip (not roll) just a few times before it tears off. No more free-rolling limiting usage

This will also deter the toddlers from taking off down the hall with a long strip unraveling behind them savings a mess and a ton of money!

Today's Challenge: Ten Degrees of Separation (Maybe a little less, maybe a little more)

Since it's Sunday, this one is going to be SUPER EASY!

Just gather up your Sunday paper; if you have multiples, grab them all!

Now remove your coupon inserts and store inserts.

If you have more than one paper, just sort each paper putting all your Smart Sources together and all your RedPlums, CVSs, Walgreens, etc.

Now, if you're really amped, go ahead and clip or file. If you don't want to tackle that task today, I totally understand! Enjoy your Sunday!

At least your organized now for when you are ready to clip!

P.S. Don't forget to recycle your paper and clippings! :)

Money Saving Tip of the Day - Teach Them While They're Young

Want to save yourself money and teach your kids to at the same time? Start them early learning to save. Open a savings account in your child's name. Help them to find small jobs like raking a neighbor's yard or lending a friend a hand. Perhaps they can recycle cans. Discuss with your child a goal for their money. Is it an expensive game system? Or perhaps a bike? And if you really want to aim high... college?
Show them how to keep a portion for small things now, incidentals to keep them from asking you for $5 for the mall. But, put a good amount in the bank. Discuss what percentage your child will need to put back with each "paycheck" to achieve their goal.
Remind your child when they are paid you need to take a trip to the bank and be EXCITED for them. Afterall, when they use their own money, they aren't using yours! :)
